Automatic Updates Issue – Client stuck in loop when logging in

If the workstation is running Windows Vista, 7, or 8, turn off UAC (User Account Control) by going to Start >> Run. Then type msconfig and go to the Tools Tab.

Click the Launch button to see your UAC setting and turn it off as seen below.

This will require a reboot of the computer to take effect.

If using Windows XP, this is often due to permissions to the collectivefleet folder. Try giving the user full control over that folder and it’s children. The default path would be C:\Program Files\Collective Data\

If this does not correct the issue delete the update60.cdatacore file from the updates folder inside workstation’s collectiveServer foler and attempt to log in again. It will require the update to run one more time.
