Application Development Intern

Collective Data is seeking an Application and Development Intern that can use programming languages and source code to create software that meets our client requirements. Our seasoned Application Developers have the responsibility for creating, maintaining, and implementing the source code that makes up the application or program. In this role you will get the opportunity to handle small deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing. You will get a chance to exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and other resource constraints. You will be challenged and provided a tremendous opportunity for growth in a customer facing, fast paced, agile environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission critical software source code using modern software development languages and tools
  2. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, working within broadly defined parameters
  3. Support creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development, and testing
  4. Identify potential roadblocks and develop around them
  5. Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics
  6. Develop maintainable code that matches specification
  7. Perform unit testing of code, including manipulation of data for analysis of system requirements
  8. “Own” the delivery of small parts of a system or application
  9. Work alongside senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approaches for new product development

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Significant coursework toward the completion of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, or related field including business coursework, and less than two (2) years of relevant system background
  • Experience in object oriented programming
  • A solid understanding of software development process fundamentals
  • A strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques
  • Familiarity with basic web technologies including HTML, CSS, and XML
  • Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git)
  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX, etc.)
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint)

Software Support Specialist

Collective Data is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our support team to provide software implementation consultation and training, engaging our clients’ learning and application at varying skill levels. You will be challenged and provided an opportunity for growth in a client facing, fast paced, agile environment. Tasks include providing ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, issues analysis and resolution. This position requires a confident individual who possesses excellent verbal and written communication and advanced computer skills. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to provide an excellent 100% client focused experience in every interaction, we want you on the Collective Data team.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide client support and technical issue resolution via e-mail, phone and various other electronic mediums
  2. Establish an understanding of user needs to configure imports, reports, and other business logic via Collective Data’s proprietary editors to meet those needs
  3. Offer end user training via web conferencing
  4. Provide assistance with software installation and implementation
  5. Provide end user quality assurance testing, documentation, training, and support on client requested features
  6. Assist with data migration and conversions from various systems

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently/efficiently to meet deadlines and provide optimal customer support
  • Established skill set in promptly answering support-related e-mails, phone calls, and other electronic communications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in dealing in both hardware and software-based issues with skills in database technologies and languages
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Experience and proficiency in Internet-related applications including e-mailing clients, FTP clients, and web browsers
  • Possess strong oral and written communications skills, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Typing proficiency of 40-60 words-per-minute
  • Experience/proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint)
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Client Trainer

Collective Data is seeking an insightful, self-motivated individual to identify and assess the training needs of our growing client base to map out development plans for teams / individuals that leads to increased knowledge and proficiency using our software tool. You will plan, research, design, develop, and conduct training programs across multiple platforms. You will be challenged and provided an opportunity for growth in a client facing, fast paced, agile environment. This position requires a confident individual who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, enjoys client interactions, and listens for future opportunities in terms of product enhancements and training needs. Responsibilities:

  1. Once client training is scheduled, work with account management to coordinate the logistics, materials, and presentation deliverable for an effective training program, to include but not be limited to, the agenda, preparation forms, guides, technology needs, etc.
  2. Design, develop, update, and maintain training resources, including all guides and visual aids, that ensure a comprehensive and comprehendible training program exists
  3. Deliver effective training, adjusting as necessary to the needs of the audience
  4. Provide comprehensive and logically organized post-training notes for the Account Management team, to ensure all questions, issues, and concerns be handled effectively and efficiently
  5. Develop training programs, tools and resources, in accordance with user experience priorities

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently / efficiently to meet deadlines while providing optimal client experiences
