Enabling the Largest School District in Florida to Ensure Safe and Reliable Transportation for Their Students

About the Client

Marion County Public Schools (MCPS), the largest school district in Florida, serves over 42,000 students across 50 schools in the district. Their commitment is to ensure safe and reliable transportation for every student. With that, it is important for them to stay ahead of maintenance on all their school vehicles to ensure timely and safe transportation.

The Challenge

“We needed a more streamlined and efficient way to manage our large bus fleet with multiple repair shops. From data management to reporting, we were looking for a solution that would help us optimize our resources, make sure repairs and PMs were managed and performed on time, and that we could better manage and track our inventoried parts.” – Paul Grosselfinger, MCPS Fleet Manager

Having used collectiveFleet in a previous role, Paul experienced the benefits of Collective Data’s fleet management system, he believed it would be a strong solution for Marion County Public Schools as well.

The Solution

The ability for Collective Data’s fleet management system to adapt to their specific requirements and real-time reporting were key factors in Paul and the MCPS team’s decision to implement collectiveFleet. With the offered flexibility and customization options, Collective Data worked closely with MCPS to set up reporting formats tailored to their needs. The system was also configured to allow easy allocaiton of buses across different schools and to automatically alert drivers when preventative maintenance is coming due. By implementing collectiveFleet, MCPS has been able to streamline fleet processes, stay ahead of preventative maintenance, accurately track parts inventory and improve technician productivity with time tracking.

Fleet Management Case Studies

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office

CPSO evaluated numerous software before ultimately choosing Collective Data. They found that some did not provide the essentials of what they were looking for and others were overboard with things that we were never going to use. They decided that Collective Data was the right fit for what we are looking to achieve.

Chatham County Police Department

Collective Data won over the evaluation committee with its focus on law enforcement and its needs and its ease of use. The price was just right, and Collective Data could do everything and more that they needed.

Speedy Transport

Speedy Transit had an entire office filled with filing cabinets, and they were using very basic software with limited reporting capabilities that did not allow them to capture enough details. They were looking for a one stop shop to streamline their maintenance and safety compliance costs in one system.

Colorado State Patrol

The Colorado State Patrol’s (CSP) main mission is to directly support the State Troopers in the form of supplying them with radios, cell phones, and laptops they require for daily operations. As the IT Communications branch of the Colorado State Patrol, they rely heavily on CollectiveData to account for all of their radio equipment issued out to Troopers, as well as Port of Entry Officers for the entire state.

Chandler Police Department

Chandler Police Department has been able to accurately track their inventory without items falling through the cracks, track who has what equipment, when it’s due back for retirement, maintenance or replacement, and set automatic email notifications and reports in order to keep their employees safe without missing anything.

Citizens Energy Group

Importing fleet data into one central data hub has allowed this broad-based utility service company to simplify data access for internal and external service staff.
