Enabling a Transport Organization in Canada to Globalize Their Company
About the Client
Speedy Transport started small and grew fast.
Founded in 1941 as a local, same-day parcel pick-up and delivery service, Speedy Transport has grown to become one of central Canada’s premier carriers. In the early years, motorcycles with sidecars delivered small parcels in downtown Toronto. Currently, sophisticated transport services operate from terminals along the Windsor-Quebec City 401 corridor.
Their facilities were built with LTL distribution in mind.
Their head office is conveniently located in Toronto, Ontario with a 100,000 square foot cross-dock facility acting as the central distribution hub. With a fleet of over 450+ owner operators and 500+ employees, they provide fast and effective distribution throughout Ontario, Quebec and the balance of Canada. They currently operate out of 7 main terminals with an additional 3 currently being constructed.
Their commitment to delivering customer satisfaction is driven by their company’s most valuable asset—their people.
The Challenge
Speedy Transport had an entire office filled with filling cabinets, and they were using very basic software with limited reporting capabilities that did not allow them to capture enough details. They were looking for a one stop shop to streamline their maintenance and safety compliance costs in one system.
The Solution
In 2012, Speedy Transport began their search for a solution and implemented Collective Data in 2013. The ability for Collective Data’s software’s capability to house all data, especially accidents and driver reports, in one place for ease of access was a huge factor in Speedy Transport’s decision to implement Collective Data. They now have the ability to use Object Revolution to customize their system to fit their unique needs. They have heavily modified their accidents and incidents views to streamline and match their already existing internal processes.
